WhatsApp and iMessage users on iPhone are currently receiving messages with a finger and a black ring – DON’T OPEN THE MESSAGE, and if you do, DON’T PRESS THE BLACK RING! It’s an iPhone Virus.
The message is much more than the black circle and finger emoji but an iPhone virus. There are also a lot of hidden invisible unicode characters that overload the app to such an extent that it shuts down.
What is worse, is that you cannot just close the app and open it again or restart your iPhone and start using your phone normally again. If you open the messaging app, you will just be seing a blank white page.
However, Ansnei provides you a trick or two to get around it, if you get hit by the ‘black dot of death’ message.
One way around it is to tell Siri to write a new message. A new message will open and if you press ‘cancel’, you will return to the homepage of your message app, where you can see all your messages again. From here, delete the black dot of death message by sliding your finger to the left and pressing delete.
